In the Funding Change platform, there are a variety of different types of raffles and draws we support.
- Prize Raffles: One or more prizes are to be won (e.g. Car, trip, wine, cash prize etc.)
- Percentage Payout Raffles: Percentage of total sales goes to the winner and to the organization
- Early-bird Draws: Offered in connection to an existing draw, early-bird draws incentivize people to buy tickets early, before a set deadline. They can boost sales early which can help overall sales, especially in the case of a percentage payout draw.
- 50/50 Bonus Draw: Offered in connection to a prize raffle, this is a percentage payout draw where the winner gets percentage of the sales of only these tickets. It can be offered ONLY to people who purchase prize raffle ticket or to anybody.
Something to remember about percentage payout raffles
Most people know these raffles as “50/50” draws, with 50% going to the winner and 50% going to the organization. Keep in mind though, that with our system you can set any prize percentage between 10% and 85%. So if you want to be the first to try a 60% / 40% raffle – with 60% going either to the organization or the winner…. Go for it!
If you happen to select a combination of draws like a multiple prize raffle with tickets sold for different prizes a different price or you plan to offer a 50/50 Bonus Draw, you may be required to submit two applications to your local regulator. Once again though… we help you with that, so just have fun building your raffle.
If you plan on offering early-bird prizes to boost ticket sales for your raffle early on, the form follows the same structure as the regular raffle set-up. You will be asked to set the “Early-bird draw” time, which can be anytime during the raffle after the Early-Bird cutoff date, or on your “Final draw” date. You must also declare the cut-off date for early-bird prizes. Do so by selecting “Only draw tickets sold before” and choose your date.
Adding Another Draw
If you have multiple prizes and you plan to sell tickets for one or more of those prizes at a different price than the others, you will need to add a draw to accommodate for that.
You also have the option of adding a 50/50 bonus draw to your prize raffle.
